Transportation

We will be providing coach bus transportation to and from the Fairfield Inn for both Friday and Saturday events, for your safety. See "Events" for pick-up and drop-off times. We recommend renting cars to drive from the airport to the hotel. Carpooling would be even better.

Things To Do

Welcome to far North Texas! Below are a few places to check out if you have additional days or spare time.

To the surprise of everyone, grapes grow well in this region, and several wineries have begun to produce in recent years. Our ceremony will take place at 4R Vineyards, but there are two other wineries with tasting rooms: Blue Ostrich and Arche.

Muenster is a classic German-Texan town where you'll find Fischer's Market, a locally-owned grocery store that makes its own meats, cheese and sauces, and Bayers Kolonialwaren, a German pastry bakery. There's also Elm Creek Manor, a B&B and restaurant with farm-to-table food.

St. Jo is a bit further down Highway 82, but also small and charming. Ancient Ovens is an indoor-outdoor pizzeria with beautiful views of the Red River valley. Be sure to reserve well in advance on their website. Red River Station BBQ and the Lazy Heart Grill are also good for a quick bite.

Further yet is Nocona, where the historic art deco Nocona Boot factory building has been reinvented as a brewery and tasting room with food as well.

Downtown Gainesville: Fried Pie Company for diner classics, Sarah's on the Square, historic Cooke County Courthouse (1911 by Lang & Witchell, Beaux Arts style), Paige Davidson Studio for cute hand-painted ceramics.

Misc.: Don't forget, this is the land of Whataburger, Chicken Express and Dairy Queen. Our go-to spot is Dieter Brothers Restaurant on Highway 82 - get BBQ in the drive thru.

And of course, DFW is nearby, with an abundance of cultural attractions. Reach out to Scott & Ali if you'd like Dallas or Fort Worth recommendations.

Flights

You may fly into either Dallas Love Field (Southwest Airlines hub), or DFW International (American Airlines hub). Both are 1.5 hours or less driving time to Gainesville.
